Sign up for the Firsthand Foods (M)eat Local Box

Hear ye, hear ye - signups for the spring edition of the Firsthand Foods (M)eat Local Box are now open!

Earlier this year we partnered with Firsthand Foods to promote their meat box subscription and develop some recipes for the amazing cuts that come in each box. We’ve been able to cook with cuts of meat we never even thought to buy at our butcher shop (hello ENTIRE ribeye roast) and we’ve also gotten to learn more about the incredible work Firsthand does to promote sustainable, ethical meat consumption.

This women-led company not only supports farmers who choose to humanely raise their meat animals, they also pay those farmers a fair price for their animals AND manage to offer products to the consumer at prices that are often lower than those found at our local farmers markets. Its a win-win for all involved!

From the Firsthand Foods website:

(M)eat Local boxes are curated to include a mixture of fresh cuts, adapted to the season, with an emphasis on grilling cuts such as steaks in the summer and braising cuts like roasts in the winter.

You’ll enjoy familiar products like pork loin chops and flat iron steaks. And you’ll discover more novel items like pork shanks, beef brisket, country style ribs and tri-tip steaks. To meet your every day needs, frozen ground beef, sausages, and selected lamb cuts are available to order as “add-ons” to your monthly pick up.

Because they are sourced and sold locally, our meats are exceptionally fresh and contain no fillers, additives, nitrates or artificial colors.

The new season of subscriptions begins on April 1st, so head on over to the Firsthand Foods website to sign up today! And keep an eye on the blog and our Instagram feed for more delicious recipes!
